Process automation & reshoring major trends post pandemic: Sip Italy

The trend of complete automation of processes, despite the availability of cheap labour, has become even more important after the pandemic in which companies had to reduce their dependency on people, according to Sip Italy (Tormec Ambrosi) sales director David Noli. He has also witnessed the phenomenon of garment reshoring as a result of the pandemic.

“More and more brands and local manufacturers are having this driven mentality of getting the production closer to the consumption point. This nearshoring has different drivers starting from being more autonomous from overseas importation up to having a bigger control on the quality and giving value to local manufacturing,” Noli said in an interview with Fibre2Fashion.

He added that “there will still be a huge demand for massively consumed garments which will be led by southeast Asia for manufacturing.”
